Founded by vocalist Kelli Campbell, Jazz Forward Dayton builds upon eight years of bringing musicians and audiences together through the monthly Jazz Jam. This special event marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter dedicated to creating opportunities for musicians to learn, perform, and connect while enriching Dayton's cultural landscape.

The evening promises exceptional performances featuring renowned guest trumpeter Ashlin Parker. Attendees can look forward to collaborations with talented artists such as pianist Keigo Hirakawa, bassist George DeLancy, and drummer Reggie Jackson, along with the University of Dayton jazz band. Additionally, there will be opportunities to learn more about Jazz Forward Dayton's vision for the future.

Launch Celebration Schedule

6:00 p.m. – Opening Performance The evening begins with an exciting performance by the University of Dayton Jazz Band, joined by internationally acclaimed guest trumpeter Ashlin Parker. Together, they'll kick off Jazz Forward Dayton's inaugural celebration with an unforgettable set of big band jazz.

6:45 p.m. – Intermission & Welcome Following the opening performance, guests are invited to enjoy a brief intermission. During this time, we'll officially welcome everyone and share the mission and vision of Jazz Forward Dayton, highlighting our commitment to creating opportunities for musicians to learn, perform, and connect while strengthening the jazz community.

7:00 p.m. – Featured Artist Performance The celebration continues with a special performance featuring guest artist Ashlin Parker, accompanied by an outstanding trio:
